5.4 Shortening the lift tube
Tools required:
Knife
Bolt cutter
Insulating tape (approx. 30 mm wide, not permeable to
air)
Size 13 wrench
Multipurpose grease
DANGER
Gripping the supporting surface
Personal injury / damage to plants/systems
Ensure that the tube lifter cannot grip the supporting surface when in its lowest
position.
Minimum clearance: 10 cm
Due to the lift tube reinforcement on the underside of the lift tube, the lift tube may
only be shortened at the rotary union (top).
Tube lifter stroke = approx. 0.7 x length of the lift tube (unloaded). The tube lifter
must be disconnected before the lift tube can be shortened at the rotary union.
Caution: When the lift tube is shortened, the lifting distance is also shortened.
The lift tube can easily be shortened at the location of use due to low
ceiling heights, when using different grippers or when retrofitting
additional functional units, such as a hose-cylinder extension for
example. The length of the lift tube has to be adjusted so that the
vacuum tube lifter JUMBO cannot apply suction to the floor, but is able
to safely deposit the load on the floor at any time.
Minimum
distance:
10 cm
