Position "closed"
Ø Move the gripper into the required position.
Ø Move the sensor into the direction of the switching lug until it
switches. Then push the sensor further into the direction of the
switching lug by 0.2 mm.
Ø Tighten the screws (8).
Ø Query the position "closed" and test the function.
Position "Part gripped (O.D. gripping)" or "Part gripped (I.D.
gripping)"
Ø Part gripped.
Ø Move the sensor into the direction of the switching lug until it
switches. Then push the sensor further into the direction of the
switching lug by 0.2mm.
Ø Tighten the screws (8).
Ø Query the position "Part gripped (O.D. gripping)" or "Part
gripped (I.D. gripping)" and test the function.
5.3.7 Mounting the inductive proximity switch IN 3, IN 40
Mounting kit
To use the inductive sensor, the gripper has to be retrofitted with
a special mounting kit. This mounting kit is available from SCHUNK
for the models below.
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the sensor during assembly!
• Observe the maximal tightening torque.
NOTE
The sensors are damped by the screw heads.
For the sizes MPG-plus 25 – 64, a distance sleeve is additionally
used for quering the position "part gripped.
For the sizes MPG-plus 16 – 20, quering the position "part
gripped" is not possible.
