Helicopters with carbureted engine (HO-360-C1A) (cont)
Lean ing is only rec om mended above 3750 feet
den sity al ti tude.
Al low cyl in der head tem per a ture to reach 300°F
prior to lean ing.
(1) Man ual Lean ing Pro ce dure (no EGT gage):
Engine Speed 2600 rpm
Mixture Lean to maximum
engine RPM, then set
mixture by turning
mixture knob two
complete revolutions
clockwise.
(2) EGT Gage Lean ing Pro ce dure:
Engine Speed 2600 rpm
Mixture - S/N 73 & Subs.
(HA-6 10-6030-1 carburetor)
Lean to peak EGT,
then set mixture to
100° -125°F rich of
peak EGT
Mixture - S/N 1-72
(unless retrofitted with
HA-6 10-6030-1carburetor)
Lean to peak EGT,
then set mixture to
175°F rich of peak
EGT
Helicopters with fuel injected engine (HIO-360-G1A)
Mixture FULL RICH
NOTE:
(He li cop ters with fuel in jected en gine -
HIO-360-G1A) Lean ing is not per mit ted.
i. Clutch disengaged warning light OFF/GUARD
CLOSED
j. Fuel low caution light
OFF
