2 About Engine
2.1 Engine model identification
The engine model denotes the following meanings:
SC 9 D F □ □ □
* G indicates off-road applications of agricultural equipment, forest equipment, construction machinery and industrial
equipment.
Example: SC8DK280G3 stands for Shang Chai Power D series 8-liter electronic-controlled diesel engine compliant
with China III (off-road) with power of 280 PS for off-road application.
2.2 Engine nameplate
The engine nameplate shows main technical specifications and parameters of the engine you have purchased. It is a
main basis with which you can buy service parts and request for customer service from our company.
Note: The engine nameplate varies a little from one application to another and it is either on the side of intake
manifold or on the side of gear housing. Nameplate of 9DF electronically controlled engine for agricultural equipment
is installed on the top of valve cover. Refer to the nameplate on your engine for detail.
