  If the transmitter zone number appears during Transmitter Sniffer mode but does not clear, it could be because the transmitter zone type (ZT) is set to 00 (Not Used); set ZT to a valid active zone type in field,56. It could also be due to the transmitter battery not being installed; install the proper battery. Finally, the 5800 system transmitter may not be enrolled in the system; enroll the unit in field,56.

Why is there no response to a transmitter in normal operation with my Security Link Security System 5800 system, even though the zone number clears during Transmitter Sniffer mode?

  Put the control in Test mode. If the zone does not respond, try operating the tamper switch or another input to the transmitter. If another input causes the zone to be displayed, the wrong input was enrolled when programming. Delete the input's serial number (not the zone), and enroll the proper input (see field,56).

Why is the siren sounding on my Security Link SL150 detector?

  If the detector's siren is sounding, it could be because the unit is not receiving the required power; check for proper installation of the battery and try a new battery. Alternatively, the unit may be malfunctioning and need replacement.

What does it mean when “CHECK” and zone number 2–8 are displayed on Security Link Security System?

  When “CHECK” and a zone number between 2 and 8 are displayed, the control has sensed a high resistance condition on a loop in one of the hardwired zones (2–8). Check the sensor or the loop wiring in the affected zone. The system will not arm until this condition is corrected or the affected zone is bypassed.
