Cassette tape failure to come in
or unexpected ejection.
Push in the cassette tape. Does
the start sensor (Q7001(C))
shift from "H" to "L" level?
Push in the cassette tape. Does
the loading motor start?
Push in the cassette tape. Are
both the start sensor and end
sensor at "H" level?
Check the performance of the
cassette controller's double-
acting rack. Check also the
start sensor (Q7001) and
cassette LED (D7001).
Replace as required.
Go to Flowchart No. 5
"Loading motor failure to
start".
Check the start sensor
(Q7001) and end sensor
(Q7002). Replace as required.
Are both the start sensor and
end sensor at "H" level?
Check the start sensor (Q7001)
and end sensor (Q7002).
Go to Flowchart No. 5 "Loading
motor failure to start".
Check the setup of
master cam and relay
gear. Check also the
mechanism position
sensors (D7008 and
D7009). Replace as
required.
Check IC2001 and replace as
required.
Go to Flowchart No. 6 "Drum
motor failure to start".
Go to Flowchart No. 10 "No
H.SW.P. output signal".
Go to Flowchart No. 8
"Capstan motor failure to
start".
Replace the idler assembly.
Go to Flowchart No. 11 "No
supply and take-up reel pulse
output".
Are there the specified
mechanism position input
signals at pins (6) and (7) of
IC2001?
No tape travel in FF/REW
mode.
Push in the cassette tape and
immediately press the FF key.
Is the remaining tape fast-
forwarded at "PB" position?
Press the FF/REW key after
the above FF action. Does the
loading motor start?
Does the master cam shift to
"FF" position? (See Mechanism
Operation Flowchart.)
Is the drum motor running?
Is there the H.SW.P. output
signal?
Is the capstan motor running?
Is the reel running with the idler
in mesh with the reel stand?
Are there the supply and take-
up reel pulse input signals at
pins (2) and (3) of IC2001?
Cassette tape assumed to be
defective.
Check the setup of relay gear
and master cam. Check the
cassette controller for
misalignment.
