10.4 Protect Your Phone
You can protect your phone from unauthorized users by requiring the PIN code, your
personalized unlock pattern, password, or ngerprint.
1. Tap Home screen/Apps screen >
or Quick settings panel > .
2. Tap Security.
3. In the Device Security section, do any of the
following:
• To modify the screen lock, tap Screen lock
and select your preferred locking option from
none, swipe (default), pattern, lock no. (PIN),
or password. Then follow the on-screen
instructions to complete the procedure (if
necessary).
• To use ngerprint authentication, tap Fingerprint and follow the on-screen
instructions to complete the procedure.
• To use the smart lock feature, tap Smart Lock and you can either choose
on-body detection, trusted places, or trusted devices to keep the device
unlocked.
Enable SIM Card Lock
If PIN code is enabled, you are required to enter the PIN code before making a call.
1. Tap Home screen/Apps screen >
or Quick settings panel > .
2. Tap Security > Set up SIM card lock.
3. Tap Lock SIM card.
4. Enter the SIM PIN code and tap OK.
