Error Cause Diagnostics and troubleshooting Res-
ponse
VSD overloaded The motor must not be blocked or overloaded. Check
and calculate the applied load under full load
conditions using the values of r0025, r0027, P0308
and P0309. Does the current power accord with the
power indicated on the motor’s rating plate? If not,
motor and VSD are mechanically overloaded
Motor power (P0307) exceeds VSD power
(P0206)
Motor power (P0307)
VSD power (see rating plate on
VSD)
Inadmissible environmental conditions
(temperature, elevation above sea level)
Environmental conditions must lie within the specified
limits (refer to Data Sheet on VSD)

Cooling fan of VSD defective Cooling fan must rotate when VSD is in operation
OFF2
Inadmissible environmental conditions
(temperature, elevation above sea level)
Environmental conditions must lie within the
specified limits (refer to Data Sheet on motor)
A reduction of pulse frequency (P1800) can help
prevent the motor from overheating
If PTC value exceeds 2 k, F0011 is generated
(motor overheated)
Check settings in P0601 for the motor temperature
sensor used (e.g. PTC / KTY)

Motor overloaded Check and calculate the applied load under full load
conditions using the values of r0025, r0027, P0308
and P0309. Does the current power accord with the
power indicated on the motor’s rating plate? If not, the
motor is mechanically overloaded
OFF2
F0012
VSD tempera-
ture signal lost
Wire breakage of VSD temperature sensor at
heatsink
VSD must be replaced or repaired
OFF2
F0015
Motor tempera-
ture signal lost
If PTC value is lower than 100 (short-circuit)
or if connection is not conductive, F0015 is
generated
P0601 is activated
Check to see if a functioning motor temperature
sensor is connected
Check to see if there is an open-circuit or short-circuit
OFF2
F0021
Earth fault
Fault occurs if sum of the phase current
exceeds 5% of the VSD’s rated current
(principle of fault current switch)
Only VSDs with 3 current transformers generate
this error message, which means VSDs of frame
sizes D through F
If the fault occurs constantly, disconnect the motor
cable from the VSD and start the VSD without having
the motor cable connected. If the fault still occurs,
there is a defect inside the VSD, which means that the
VSD must be replaced. If the fault does not occur
without having the motor connected, the motor cable or
motor causes the fault. Connect the motor cable
(without motor) to the VSD, enabling you to check the
condition of the motor cable
OFF2
Motor identification required Make motor identification
Regenerative mode due to too short ramp-down
time
Increase the ramp-down time (P1121)
Short-circuit IGBT Check the SED2 as described in the SED2 Planning
Manual (CM1J5192)
Contact at SED2’s input or output Ensure that the SED2 is started only when the contact
at the output is closed.
If a change to bypass is made, ensure that OFF2 is
activated before the output switch opens. As a result,
the IGBT becomes high impedance, which means that
voltage is no longer present at the output
Motor insulation defective Possibly, defective motor insulation occurs only at
certain voltages or frequencies
Electrical resonance Increase the pulse frequency (P1800)
F0022
DC link
overcurrent
Mechanically blocked Can the motor freely rotate or is it blocked?
