4 Installation and commissioning
4.1 Hardware setup
Chapter 1.3 lists the required hardware components.
CAUTION
The installation guidelines for the SIMATIC S7-300 and the ET 200SP
distributed I/O system must be observed. Please read the corresponding
device manuals \8\ and \6\.
CAUTION
Only switch on the power supply after you have completed and checked
the assembly.
The following graphic shows the hardware setup of the application.

1. Connect your S7-300 station to a 24 V power supply.
2. Connect the S7-300 station to your engineering station via the PROFINET port.
3. Attach the ET 200SP header module, the CM PtP with Base Unit, and finally
the server module to a profile rail.
4. Connect the ET 200SP header module to the SIMATIC S7-300 with an
Ethernet cable.
5. Connect the ET 200SP to a 24 V power supply.
