6.1 Overview

With the aid of the ERPC functions, an ERP subscriber can read data from the CPU of the
connected S7 station and write data to the CPU of the CPU of the S7 station.
6.1.2 Procedure for using the ERPC functions
Overview
The CP ships with Siemens firmware loaded. This means that all basic functions with the
exception of the ERPC functions are supported.
To use the ERPC functions, follow the basic procedure outlined below:
1. Loading ERPC firmware on the CP 343-1 ERPC
Before you start to configure the ERPC functions with STEP 7, you must first download
the ERPC firmware to the CP, see section Downloading the ERPC firmware (Page 69).
2. Do
wnloading the ILS license file to the CP

3. Specifying the relevant data for ERPC communication
Before configuring the ERPC software in the ILS Workbench and configuring the CP with
STEP 7, the two configuration engineers of these two systems should come to an
agreement on the relevant data. Consistent configuration at both ends is necessary for
data exchange between the ERP subscribers and the SIMATIC S7.
4. Configuration of the CP in STEP 7
– Configuration of the symbol table for the CPU
– Configuration of the ERPC symbols
– Preparation of the function block FB56 for the logical trigger
– Preparation and configuration of the configuration data block for the logical trigger

6. Config
uration of the ILS Workbench
The basic functions for ERPC communication such as the selection of the relevant data,
the assignment of the logical triggers or networking of the subscribers are specified in the
ILS Workbench.
With the exception of the configuration steps in the ILS Workbench, these steps are
described below. Read the relevant documentation of our cooperation partners
ILS Technology LLC for information on configuring the ILS Workbench.
