8.1 Clear/reset and reset
Available functions
If the CP was configured with module protection, the following two functions are available
only when the CPU is in STOP mode.
With the CP, there are two functions available for deleting the stored data:
● Clear / reset
Following this memory reset, the CP retains the preset MAC address and the retentive
parameters. The CP is therefore immediately ready for downloads using the IP address.
The retentive parameters include:
– IP address, subnet mask and, if applicable, router address
– LAN settings
– SNMP variables (modifiable)
– ERPC firmware
The ILS Workbench configuration and the ILS license file in the flash file system are also
retained.
The CPU in the S7 station does not recognize that the CP memory was reset. The CP
therefore changes to the "stopped with error" state (see section LED displays (Page 27)).
The co
nfiguration data must then be reloaded.
if the configuration data is stored on the CPU, you can start a download by cycling power.

● Resetting to factory settings
After resetting to factory settings, the CP retains only the factoryset MAC address (as
shipped).
On the C-PLUG the retentive parameters and the data in the file system (flash area) are
deleted.
The data in the internal file system is deleted.
