In principle, installation is performed in the inverse sequence of removal.

Danger of death if the encoder is not properly installed or the safety devices do not
function
Incorrect encoder mounting, other parts and safety equipment and devices that are not
operational can result in death or injury.
• Make sure all parts of the machine are correctly installed and connected.
• Carefully check that all of the safety equipment and devices are switched on again and are
ready for operation.
NOTICE
Encoders are ESD components
Carefully comply with the rules for handling ESD components.
1 Remove the new encoder from the ESD packaging.
2 Turn the complete new encoder upward.
3 Without applying any force, insert the new black cou‐
pling elements onto the encoder shaft ①.
On both opposite sides, the coupling element has a
narrow slot (A) and a wide slot (B).
Mount the coupling element onto the encoder shaft
corresponding to the widths of the slots on the encod‐
er shaft.
4 Slide the signal cable connector into the mating part
on the DQCON board until the connector latches into
place ②.
