What do these instructions contain?
For 1FK2 and 1FT2 motors, from frame size 63 and higher, a defective encoder can be replaced
by a new encoder of the same type. The encoder is replaced without any special tools.
These service instructions describe how to order a replacement encoder and replace the
defective one.

This is what you need to know
The encoder determines the angular position of the rotor with respect to the motor stator.
Based on this information, the current is impressed corresponding to the angular position of the
rotor so that the required torque is generated.
For 1Fx2 motors, the encoder is electronically adjusted to the correct zero position.
This o󹪜set adjustment value is saved in the electronic rating plate in the encoder electronics
board, and is lost when the encoder is replaced.
In addition to the correction angle, the electronic rating plate also includes other parameters
required to operate the motor.
This is the reason that after the encoder has been mechanically replaced
• You must restore the original motor rating plate in the new encoder
or
• You call up, from the Internet, the data set for a new rating plate template based on the motor
serial number If you use a rating plate template, e.g. from the Internet, you must determine
the correction angle and save it to the rating plate.
