Maintenance
The Injection Unit 7XT71 is maintenance-free.
Wipe the device using a clean, dry and soft cloth if necessary. Do not use solvents.
Repair
You are not authorized to troubleshoot or repair a defective device. This does not
apply to replacing the F1 microfuse on the printed circuit board assembly. Special
electronic modules are inserted in the Injection Unit 7XT71 which can only be re-
placed by the manufacturer according to the guidelines for electrostatic sensitive
devices (ESD).
If you suspect any damage on the device, Siemens recommends sending the entire
device to the manufacturer. For this purpose, it is best to use the original transport
packaging or similar packaging.
Replacing the Microfuse F1
The power supply of the device is protected by a T2A/250V microfuse. The latter is
held by a snap-in fastener on the printed circuit board assembly and can be ac-
cessed by pulling the plug-in module out of the housing.
✧ To replace the microfuse F1, remove the plug-in module as described in
Chapter 9.2.2.
✧ Take the defective fuse F1 out of the snap-in fastener.
