7.1.2.2 Status and error displays on the 3RW5 Modbus RTU communication module
"DIAG" LED
State
Meaning
Lights up green
Device exchanging data with the Modbus RTU master.
Flashes green
• The 3RW5 soft starter is not configured.
• The 3RW5 communication module is starting.
• The 3RW5 communication module is being parameterized.
• Factory settings are being restored.
• Device not performing data exchange.
Lights up red
Hardware or firmware defective.
Flashes red
• Group error (only if the 3RW5 communication module is malfunctioning)
• Switchover from old to new firmware after firmware update
(flashes briefly)
Flashes green / red
The "node flash test" was activated.
Off
No supply voltage available.
"BUS" LED
State
Meaning
Lights up green
Device is performing data exchange
(3RW5 Soft Starter in Automatic mode).
Lights up red
• Bus error, e.g.:
– Timeout for access monitoring of the control source.
• Determining the baud rate or port configuration with the setting
"Automatic".
• Switchover from old to new firmware after firmware update
(temporarily lights up)
Flashes red
Configuring error
Off
• After the 3RW5 communication module has started up, no data access
has occurred yet.
• No supply voltage available.
