6.1 Basic safety notes
WARNING
Improper commissioning in hazardous areas

vice failure or risk of explosion in hazardous areas.
• Do not commission the device until it has been mounted completely and connected in
accordance with the information in Technical data (Page 79).
• Before commissioning take the e󹪜ect on other devices in the system into account.
WARNING
Commissioning and operation with pending error
If an error message appears, correct operation in the process is no longer guaranteed.
• Check the gravity of the error.
• Correct the error.
• If the error still exists:
– Take the device out of operation.
– Prevent renewed commissioning.
6.2 Switching on the supply voltage

• You have connected the device correctly. (Page 41)
• The terminal voltage on the device is correct. (Page 79)
Procedure
Switch on the supply voltage.
• Product name and 󹪝rmware version appear brie󹪞y on the display.
• The measured values are shown on the display.
For a device without a display, you read o󹪜 the current output as follows:
– Over the remote control (e.g. SIMATIC PDM).
– With a DC current measuring device.
