Removing the brake pads (example: rear wheel)

The description for changing the brake
pads is valid for both the front and rear
wheel.

If necessary, allow the components to
cool down.

Remove the front wheel (Y page 57)
or
X
Remove the rear wheel (Y page 58).

Carefully prise apart brake pads ; with
the yellow transport lock.
X
Unscrew and remove retaining pin =
with a T25 Torx wrench.
X
Pull brake pads ; up and out of brake
calliper :.
Do not operate the brake.

Clean brake calliper : around the pis-
tons using a soft cloth.
Installing the brake pads

WARNING
The retaining pin for the brake pads has a
single-use threadlock. If the retaining pin
is reused, it may come loose during the
journey. This may result in brake failure.
There is a risk of an accident.
Always replace the retaining pins with new
ones once they have been loosened. Dispose
of the used retaining pins immediately.

Insert brake pads ; into brake cal-
liper : with the friction surface facing
the brake disc.
X
Screw new retaining pin = into brake
calliper :.
Make sure retaining pin = passes
through the eyelets of both brake
pads ;.

Tighten retaining pin = to a torque of
2.5 Nm (1.84 lb-ft).
X
Install the front wheel (Y page 58)
or
X
Install the rear wheel (Y page 59).
X
Pull the brake lever several times until
the pressure point is stable.
X
Bed in brake pads ;(Y page 39).
