7. Rotate the steaming knob z clockwise to switch o the steaming wand 5.

When not switched o, the steaming function automatically switches o after 2 minutes.
8. Clean the nozzle of the steaming wand 5 with a damp cloth.
9. Rotate the steaming knob z to remove all milk from the steaming wand 5.
10. Press one of the cup extraction buttons j k to cool down the steaming function.
The cup extraction buttons j k start ashing. When the cup extraction buttons j k constantly
light up white, the system is ready for making coee.
11. Pour the frothed milk directly into an espresso.
6 The steaming wand is hot after use!
12. Clean the milk jug r with water or in a dishwasher after use.
V USING THE HOT WATER FUNCTION
6 During or directly after use, only touch the rubber handle of the steam and
hot water wand. The steaming wand gets hot.
1. Lower the steaming wand 5 into a cup.
6 Do not point the tip of the steaming wand directly on the bottom of the cup.
2. Rotate the steaming knob z anticlockwise to dispense hot water from the steaming wand 5.
3. Press the steaming function button l to boost the hot water function.
4. Rotate the steaming knob l clockwise to stop the hot water function .

You can also use the hot water function to preheat the cups.
V DAILY MAINTENANCE
We recommend doing the following maintenance daily (before rst coee):
1. Place a container underneath the brewing head 4.
2. Press one of the cup extraction buttons j k to rinse the brewing head 4.
3. Dry the brewing head 4 with a cloth.
4. Rinse the portalter s and the used lters p a with tap water.
5. Dry the portalter s and the used lters p a with a cloth.
6. Check if the red oater of the drip tray 6 is visible through the grid.
7. If so, clean the drip tray 6 (chapter Weekly maintenance).

Repeat this procedure every time you brew a coee to improve the quality of your coee.
V WEEKLY MAINTENANCE
We recommend doing the following maintenance weekly:
1. Empty the drip tray 6.
2. Clean the drip tray 6 with water and a mild detergent.
3. Set the grind size selector g to COARSE.
4. Check if the hopper gate at the back of the bean container 1 is open.
5. Place a container under the portalter holder 3.
6. Press the grind time knob c to switch on the grinder and remove excess coee.
7. After a few seconds, press the grind time knob c again to switch o the grinder.
8. Set the grind size selector g back to the desired position.
19. Insert and rotate the portalter s into the brewing head 4 (see image C). Make sure the handle
is aligned with the CLOSE marking.
6 Make sure the portalter is rmly installed. If the portalter does not turn
easily in place, remove the portalter and reduce the amount of coee
ground.
20. Place one or two cups from the cup tray 2 underneath the spouts of the portalter.
When the cup extraction buttons j k light up you can start the brewing process.
6 Do not leave the appliance unattended when in use.
21. Press the corresponding cup extraction button j k to start the process.

During the coee extraction, the display shows the brewing time.
22. Check during the process if the manometer b goes from 0 to the optimal range (8 – 12 bar).

Quickly double press the cup extraction button to skip pre-infusion and start immediately with the
coee extraction.

If you need to stop the process before it is nished, press the corresponding cup extraction button
again. The maximum brewing time is 60 seconds.
6 Be careful when emptying the portalter directly after use. The appliance and
the coee cakes are still very hot.
23. Remove the portalter s from the brewing head 4.
24. Empty the cup lter p a in a knock box or a bin.
When you want to make another espresso, repeat the steps in this chapter. When you are nished we
recommend cleaning the appliance (Chapter Daily maintenance).
V STEAMING MILK
6 During or directly after use, only touch the rubber handle of the steam and
hot water wand. The steaming wand gets hot.

You can use steamed milk for example in a cappuccino or a caè latte.

You can also use the steaming function for heating chocolate milk or other beverages.
1. Press the steaming function button l to activate the steaming function.
The appliance heats up the steaming function. The steaming function button l blinks. When the
steaming function is ready, the steaming function button l constantly light up white.
2. Fill the milk jug r with milk (max. half a jug).

If the steaming wand is used for dispensing hot water, the steaming wand dispenses water residue
before the steaming function activates. For good steamed milk, rst dispense the residue before
putting the steaming wand into the milk.
3. Check if the steaming function button l constantly lights up white.
4. Lower the nozzle of the steaming wand 5 a few millimeters into the milk.
5. Rotate the steaming knob z counterclockwise to switch on the steaming wand 5.
6. Wait until the milk is steamed as desired.

When you cannot touch the side of the milk jug for longer than 3 seconds, the temperature is
optimal (approximately 65 °C).
