mono sources to both left and right mix buses, with the mix buses linked, yields dual mono
faders in the Mixer pane. In general, this is the preferred approach.
The interior of the matrix is composed of a crosspoint matrix. The matrix is too wide to fit com-
pletely within the Sonic Console window. The horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the matrix
allows the remaining columns to be seen.
To make an assignment in the crosspoint matrix, simply click at the intersection of a row and
column. A gray assignment tile appears. If the tile is present, that column and its associated
bus is assigned to the corresponding rox and its mix bus, and appropriate controls will appear
in the Mixer pane. If an assignment tile is not present, the column and its associated bus is not
assigned to the Mixer, and the controls will not appear. The channel will be muted and un-so-
loed on the associated mix bus.
There are some keyboard shortcuts that you can use when making matrix
assignments:
• Clicking in one tile, followed by <shift>-clicking in another tile will automatically select or de-
select all of the tiles in between the end points
• Clicking and dragging in the matrix will continuously apply new assignment tiles to each
crosspointover which you drag
• Command–click dragging will scroll the matrix
3.2 +DSP Pane
The +DSP pane is the heart of the signal processing in your Series 300 unit. The +DSP pane is
accessed via the +DSP button at the top center of Sonic Console, just to the right of the Mix/
Output Routing button.
