Connect
any
commercially
available
50

75
ohms
dipole
(doublet)
aerial
to
the
SW
aerial
terminals
at
the
rear,
using
50-75
ohms
coaxial
cable
as
a
feeder
wire.
Set
the
SW-ANT
switch
to
EXT,
and
retract
the
SW
Telescopic
Aerial.
Loosen
the
screws
on
the
terminals.
Connect
the
center
conduc-
tor
of
the
coaxial
cable
to
the
Y
and
the
shielded
braid
to
the
ahr
as
in
Fig.
R
and
tighten
the
screws.

Yesserrer les vis de bornes, brancher le conducteur central du cable

a fig. R, et resserrer les vis.

the
wire
outdoors
if
pos-
sible.
Earth
The
use
of
an
earth
wire
will
eliminate
hum
and
noise
and
provide
better
reception.
There
are
three
earth
terminals
7
at
the
rear,
and
any
terminal
can
be
used
for
an earth
connection.
Loosen
the
screw
of
the
7
which
is
not
used
for
aerial
connec-
tion.
Connect
one
end
of
the
earth
wire
to
the
terminal
and
tight-
en
the
screw.
Connect
the
other
end
to
a
cold
water
pipe
by
means
of
an
earth
clamp,
or
directly
to
a
convenient
earth
ground
as
in
Fig.
T.
Note: Never connect the earth wire to a gas pipe.

Connecter un fil d’antenne d’une longueur de plus de 5m (15 pieds)
ala borne d’antenne PO/GO située sur la face arriére ce l'appareil.
Desserrer la vis de la borne [VY]. Connecter l’extrémité du fil et
resserrer la vis comme indiqué sur fig. S. Disposer lefil extérieur
aussi haut que possible.
Mise a la terre
L’emploi simultané d’un conducteur de mise a la terre élimine les
bruits ou le bourdonnement et améliore la réception.
Trois bornes de terre [ z |] sont situées sur l’arriére, et toutes les
trois peuvent étre utilisées pour la mise a laterre. |
Desserrer la vis de borne [ 7, ] qui n’est pas utilisée pour la con-
nexion d’antenne, brancher un extrémité du conducteur de mise a
la terre a la borne, et resserrer les vis. Relier l'autre extrémité a
une conduite d’eau froide a |’aide d’un bride, ou directrment a une
prise de terre appropriée (fig. T).
Note: Ne jamais connecter le conducteur a une condu ite de gaz.
