The IC recording medium used by this
camera is a "Memory Stick". There are two
types of "Memory Stick".
"Memory Stick": you can use a "Memory Stick"
with your camera.
"Memory Stick Dun": you can use a "Memory
Stick Duo" by inserting it into a Memory Stick
Duo Adaptor.

Charge both ollhe supplied Ni-MH balleries

The batleries can be charged even if they are nol
complelely discharged. Also, even il batteries
are not fully charged, you can use lhe partially
charged capacity of the balleries as is.

in a cool, dry place. This is to mainlain the
balleries' funclious (page 93).

This camera is equipped with a Carl Zeiss lens
which is capable of reproducing sharp images
with excellent contrast.
The lens lot this camera has been produced under
a quality assurauce system certified by Carl Zeiss
in accordance with the quality standards of Carl
Zeiss in Germany.

The contents of the recording cannot be
compensated [i_r if recording or playback is not
possible due to a malfimctinn of your camera or
recording media, etc.
Backuprecommendation
To avoid the poteulial risk ol data loss, always
copy (back up) dala lo other medium.

II you lurn or't"the power by opening the batlery/
"Memory Slick" cover, elc. during the access
lamp is lit, the data in lhe internal memory may
be corrupled. Be sure to back up Ihe data Io
avoid lhe polential risk ol dala loss. See pages
23, 58 on how lo back up the dala.

This camera is neilher dusl-prnol, nor splash-
proof, nor waler=prnof. Read "Precautions"
(page 95) before operaliug the camera.
Before you record one-time events, make a trial
recording Io make sure thai the camera is
working correclly.
Be carefi_d nol to get Ihe camera wel. Water
entering lhe inside ol the camera may cause
malfunctions whicla in some cases may nol be
repairable.
Do nol aim the camera at lhe sun or olher bright
light. This may cause irrecoverable damage to
your eyes. Or il may cause the malhmcliou ol
your calnera.
Do nol use the camera near a localion thal
geuerales slrong radio waves or emits radiation.
The camera may not be able to record or play'
back properly.
Using lhe camera in sandy or dusty localious
may cause malfimctions.
II moisture coudeusation occurs, remove it
before using the camera (page 95).
