Ensure the suction line does not leak and make sure that the
cover is screwed on tightly.
5.3 Installation
The pump can either be installed below the water level in intake
mode or above the water level in suction operation mode.

(1) Foot valve is necessary for non-self-priming pumps
In suction operation mode, the suction height is significantly
reduced by flow resistance in the suction line or pipes which are
too low or have diameters which are narrow.
