5.6.3 SSL/TLS Configuration
In the as delivered state, the communication between MQTT subscribers and MQTT-Brokers
is unencrypted and in plain text. Especially in applications where the MQTT-Broker is made
available via the Internet, we recommend enabling the SSL/TLS encryption. To easily acquire
necessary certificates, you can generate a private Root-CA (private certification authority) on
the Spectra PowerBox 100-IoT.
When enabling the SSL/TLS encryption for the first time by checking the “Use SSL/TLS
encryption” box, the following dialogue opens up which, however, does not yet include any
certificates.
