PARTS REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT
14. Install the round, metal crank shield, the jam nut and the pedal onto
the left side of the crank. Remember, the jam nut and the pedal have
reverse threads (tighten them in the counterclockwise direction).
15. Adjust the side play in the crank by tightening or loosening the left
side bearing nut with a 32-mm cone wrench. The crank should spin
freely without binding. When the crank is properly adjusted, hold the
left side bearing nut with the cone wrench and tighten the jam nut
securely. Recheck the crank adjustment after tightening the jam nut.
16. Install the drive chain, side covers and neck covers (3300 CE).
