then a cross-cut (2) at cutting point (A) at a distance
a = 8 in. (20 cm) from where the flush-cut will be made
(B).

19.1 Preparing for Transportation or Storage
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury from unintended
activation or unauthorized use, switch off the pole pruner
and remove the battery before transporting the pole pruner
or putting it down. To reduce the risk of injuries from the
sharp cutters on the chain, always cover the guide bar with
the chain scabbard before transporting or storing the pole
pruner.
To prepare the pole pruner for transportation or storage:
Switch off the pole pruner, @ 16.2.
Remove the battery, @ 15.2.
Adjust the drive tube to its shortest length, @ 18.1
Loosen the chain.
Slide a chain scabbard over the guide bar so that it covers
the entire guide bar.
If the battery or pole pruner became wet during operation,
allow them to dry separately and completely before
charging or storing.
Before using the pole pruner, remember to re-tension the
chain.
NOTICE
The chain contracts as it cools down. Failing to loosen the
chain after finishing work can damage the drive shaft and
bearings.
20.1 Pole Pruner
When transporting the pole pruner:
Slide a chain scabbard over the guide bar so that it covers
the entire guide bar.
When transporting the pole pruner by hand, hold the drive
tube in a manner that balances the pole pruner
horizontally. Keep the cutting attachment behind you.
When transporting the pole pruner in a vehicle, cover the
guide bar with a chain scabbard. Secure and position the
pole pruner to prevent turnover, impact and damage.
