9 Starting and Stopping the Engine
► Press down the throttle trigger lockout (5) and hold it
there.
► Pull the throttle trigger (4) and hold it there.
► Move the Master Control lever (3) to position .
► Move the Master Control lever (3) to position .
► Hold the chainsaw firmly in one of three ways:
– Place the saw on level ground. Hold the saw firmly on
the ground with your left hand on the handlebar – your
thumb should be under the handle. Put the toe of your
right boot into the rear handle and press down.
– Place the saw on level ground. Hold the saw firmly on
the ground with your left hand on the handlebar – your
thumb should be under the handle. Put the heel of your
right boot into the rear handle and press down.
– Hold the saw firmly with your left hand on the handlebar
– your thumb should be under the handle. Hold the rear
handle tightly between your legs, just above the knees.
► Pull the starter grip slowly with your right hand until you
feel it engage.
► Pull the starter grip quickly and allow the starter rope to
rewind several times until the engine runs.
► Press down the throttle trigger lockout (5) and hold it
there.
► Blip the throttle trigger (4).
The Master Control lever (3) springs to position . The
engine runs at idling speed.
NOTICE
Do not accelerate the engine with the chain brake engaged
since this can damage the chain brake.
► Disengage the chain brake before you start cutting.
► Disengage the chain brake.
Your chain saw is ready for operation.
► If the saw chain rotates while the engine is idling: Rectify
the malfunction.
Idle speed adjustment is not correct.
► If the engine does not start: Prepare the engine for the
start and then try again to start the engine.
9.4 Stopping the Engine
► Release the throttle trigger (2) and throttle trigger lockout
(3).
The saw chain stops running.
