SYMPTOM PROBABLE CAUSE RECOMMENDATION

EC Fan(s) Fail to Start After the causes below are corrected,
(Cont.) the fan(s) must be manually reset by
turning off power for 20 seconds:
4. Over temperature of electronics
5. Over temperature of motor
Control is Erratic Wiring improperly connected or broken Check wiring against schematic diagram
System Short of Capacity a. Low Chilled Water ow Check for leaks. Repair and recharge
system.
b. Supply water temperature too high Check chilled water supply
c. Reduced air ow Check lters
d. Dirty Coil Clear coil ns of debris
Electric Heater a. Circuit breaker tripped Check for short circuit; reset circuit
Inoperable breaker.
b. Temperature setpoint too low Increase temperature setpoint
c. Overheat switch open Insuf cient air ow across heater elements.
Check for dirty lters or obstructions
that may reduce air ow. Correct or
replace as needed.
d. Manual reset overheat safety Reset manual overheat safety switch
switch tripped (see item immediately above).
e. Heater element burned out Check continuity with an ohmmeter
Replace heater element
Hot Water Heater a. Low hot water ow Check hot water ow at supply source.
Inoperable Inspect piping for leaks or obstructions.
b. Hot water supply temperature too low Check hot water supply
c. Temperature setpoint too low Increase temperature setpoint
d. Control power interrupted Check for loose or broken wires
Humidi er Inoperable a. Water supply has been turned Connect and/or turn on water supply
Note: See Humidi er off or not connected

b. Humidi er switch is in “Off” position Turn switch to “Auto/On” position
c. Electrical connections are loose Tighten electrical connections
d. Humidi er circuit breaker tripped Check for excess current draw by the
humidi er electrodes. Drain water from tank
and re ll. Reset circuit breaker.
e. Relative humidity is above setpoint Adjust humidity setpoint
f. Electrode canister change cylinder 1. Consult humidi er manual
light is activated 2. Water conductivity is too low and
water is at the top of the cylinder
(see next item).
g. Water conductivity is too low Add a teaspoon of table salt to the water
through the top of the cylinder. Typically
only required during initial start-up.
