B Storing the built-in child restraint
Always properly store the built-in child restraint before using the regu-
lar lap-shoulder belt for the rear-center seating position.

1. Fasten the chest clip.
2. Stow the belt buckle into the recess of the child restraint cushion.
3. Fold the child restraint cushion up into the seatback.
B Replacing restraint system parts after a collision
WARNING
Replace the built-in child restraint equipped vehicle seatback as-
sembly if the child restraint was in use during a serious collision.
The built-in restraint may be severely weakened. In a subsequent
accident, it might not be able to provide adequate protection. The
entire assembly should be replaced even if damage is not ob-
vious.
B Maintenance
CAUTION
D Keep the belts free of polishes, oils, chemicals and particularly
battery acid as they may weaken the belts.
D Never attempt to make modifications or changes that will pre-
vent the built-in child restraint from operating properly.
