ENGINE IDLE SPEED INSPECTION
Inspect the engine idle speed. The
engine idle speed should be 1200 –
1400 r/min when the engine is warm.
NOTE: If the engine idle speed is not
within the specified range, ask your
Suzuki dealer or a qualified mechanic
to inspect and repair the motorcycle.
THROTTLE CABLE PLAY
2.0 – 4.0 mm
(0.08 – 0.16 in)
To adjust the cable play:
1. Remove the boot 1.
2. Loosen the lock nut 2.
3. Turn the adjuster 3 so that the
throttle grip has 2.0 – 4.0 mm
(0.08 – 0.16 in) play.
4. Tighten the lock nut 2.
5. Reinstall the boot 1.
WARNING
Inadequate throttle cable play can
cause engine speed to rise sud-
denly when you turn the handle-
bars. This can lead to loss of
control and an accident.
Adjust the throttle cable play so
that engine idle speed does not
rise due to handlebar movement.
