THROTTLE CABLE PLAY
Adjust the throttle cable play
A
as follows.
• Loosen the lock-nut

of the throttle cable.
• Turn the adjuster

in or out to obtain the correct play.
 Throttle cable play: 3 – 5 mm (0.1 – 0.2 in)
• After adjusting the throttle cable play, tighten the lock-nut

ENGINE IDLE SPEED
• Adjust the throttle cable play. (

above)
• Warm up the engine.
NOTE:
Make this adjustment when the engine is hot.
• Start the engine, turn the throttle stop screw
1
and set the
engine idle speed as follows.
 Engine idle speed: 1 00 ± 100 r/min.
Inspect initially at 1 month and every 3 months there-
after.
After the adjustment is completed, check that handle-
bar movement does not raise the engine idle speed
and that the throttle lever returns smoothly and auto-
matically.
