Programming the radio
Reattach the battery by fitting the top edge of the battery to the radio first, then the bottom edge.
Programming the radio model information
Notes:
• Series 1 radios with firmware v1.03.xx (or later) no longer requires the use of Model
Conversion Tool.
• Series 2 radios (i.e., serial numbers LC214530001 or later) no longer requires the use of
Model Conversion Tool.
1. Turn on the radio with the volume control.
2. Once the radio is on and startup is complete, connect the radio to a computer via the
programming cable (T03-00361-AAAA).
3. Launch Tait TP3000 Model Conversion Tool and click the Read button to read the radio
model information.
4. Select the appropriate Radio Model from the drop-down menu on the right, and click the
‘Write’ button to write the updated information to the radio. Ignore the greyed out serial
number and hardware version info as they won’t be programmed into the radio.
