Why is the electrical switch on my TDW PIG-SIG V not sending a signal?
    • V
      Vanessa JeffersonAug 7, 2025
The electrical switch of your TDW Measuring Instruments might not be sending a signal due to several reasons. Ensure the double torsion spring is correctly installed. Also, verify the indicator is properly installed by removing a set screw and looking for the groove on the plug. Check that the plug is fully installed, ensuring it extends 1-3/8 inches above the THREAD-O-RING Nipple. In freezing weather, remove the indicator to check for moisture. Also, ensure the switch is adjusted properly, referring to the electrical switch instruction in the manual.

Why won't the plug assembly thread onto the THREAD-O-RING Nipple on my TDW Measuring Instruments?
    • R
      Randy LittleAug 12, 2025
If the plug assembly won't thread onto the THREAD-O-RING Nipple of your TDW Measuring Instruments, verify that it is indeed a TDW THREAD-O-RING. The hole in the pipe may be too small or not centered. Also, the THREAD-O-RING may be swedged due to over-tightening of a valve or cap. Measure the inside dimension (ID) to ensure it is not swedged or egged.

If the plug on your TDW Measuring Instruments has stopped working, it might be contaminated. Consider installing a new filter pack version. Alternatively, wax build up in plug can be the cause, so consult with factory on other plug option.

Why doesn't the flag raise on my TDW PIG-SIG V Measuring Instruments after pig passage?
    • J
      Joseph MckinneyAug 25, 2025
If the flag doesn’t raise on your TDW Measuring Instruments after assumed pig passage, verify the indicator is properly installed by removing a set screw and looking for the groove on the plug. Also, verify that the plug is fully installed; measure the distance the plug extends above the THREAD-O-RING nipple (should be 1-3/8 inches). In the event of freezing weather, remove indicator and check for moisture.

What causes trigger damage in TDW PIG-SIG V?
    • S
      Sonya PetersAug 30, 2025
Trigger damage in TDW Measuring Instruments can be caused by using an incorrect THREAD-O-RING for the pipe's wall thickness. Verify the proper THREAD-O-RING was used for the corresponding wall thickness of pipe. Measure the height of the THREAD-O-RING as it is mounted to the pipe and then add that measurement to the wall thickness of the pipe. This measurement should not exceed 4.50 inches but needs to be greater than 4.25 inches. Also, the plug may have wax or other buildup preventing the trigger from moving, resulting in damage.
