What to do if Technaxx WiFi Stick TX-247 LED flashes red every 1 second?
    • C
      Craig GreenAug 12, 2025
If the Technaxx Data Logger's LED flashes red every 1 second, it indicates that the DTU (Data Transfer Unit) either doesn't have a serial number (SN) or is disconnected from WiFi. Here's what you can do: * Ensure the DTU is within the router's range; if not, move it closer. * Verify that you've entered the correct password for your home router during setup. * Check the router's reception using another device to confirm it's working. * Try using your phone's hotspot to see if data uploads successfully, which can help isolate the issue.

Overview

The Technaxx WiFi Stick TX-247 is a data logger designed for balcony power plants equipped with Hoymiles inverters (HM & MI series). It provides module-level monitoring for up to four solar modules, including data storage, and facilitates remote management of the system via the S-Miles Cloud platform, accessible through a dedicated app (Android + Apple) and web browser.

Function Description:

The device acts as a communication gateway (DTU - Data Transfer Unit) between Hoymiles microinverters and the S-Miles Cloud (Hoymiles Monitoring Platform). It converts the DC output of solar panels into grid-compliant AC power and collects operational data from the microinverters. The DTU communicates wirelessly with the microinverters using 2.4 GHz Proprietary RF (Nordic) and connects to the internet via a router to upload system operation data to the S-Miles Cloud. The S-Miles Cloud then collects and presents this data, offering panel-level monitoring for users. The device also provides real-time data and alarms through the S-Miles APP and acquires energy production data at 15-minute intervals.

Usage Features:

The TX-247 offers a plug-and-play installation process. Users need to download the "S-Miles Installer" app, register an account, and then create a "plant" by providing basic information such as plant name, type (Residential Plant), capacity (e.g., 300W, 600W, 800W), time zone, and address. The DTU is added by scanning its SN sticker or manual entry, followed by adding microinverters similarly. The app allows for detailed configuration of the solar panel array, including array name, azimuth, inclination, and layout pattern (vertical or horizontal). Additional settings for calculation, such as currency and electricity price per unit, can be entered to estimate savings. The device supports remote management, enabling users to view operating details, current power, and historical production data (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, total) through graphs in the app. The app also provides status indicators for router/server connection, microinverter connection, and allows for editing plant information and syncing data with the server. A key feature is the ability to limit power fed into the grid via the web page using the "Power Adjustment" tool, allowing users to reduce the microinverter's output by a percentage.

Maintenance Features:

The device is designed for indoor use only and is not waterproof or dustproof. For cleaning, it should only be wiped with a dry or slightly damp, lint-free cloth; abrasive cleaners or liquid sprays should not be used. To ensure longevity and proper function, users should avoid exposing the device to ultra-high or ultra-low temperatures, moist environments for extended periods, rain, water, or strong shocks. It is crucial not to disassemble, modify, or repair the product without professional guidance, as this can lead to damage or short-circuits. The manual also emphasizes proper installation, including placing the DTU close to the router and microinverter (within 10 meters straight distance, 150 meters open space to microinverter, 10 meters open space to router) and ensuring a stable internet connection. Environmental requirements include keeping it away from dust, liquid, acids, or corrosive gas, and within a temperature range of -20°C to 55°C. In case of issues, the troubleshooting section provides guidance based on LED indicators, offering solutions like relocating the DTU, checking router passwords, or re-doing configuration.
