• Cleaning your pedelec with a high pressure
cleaner can damage the electrical systems.
The high pressure can force cleaning uid into
sealed parts and damage them as a result.
• Avoid damaging cables and electrical compo-
nents. If this happens, you should not ride the
pedelec until it has been checked over by a
specialist retailer!
Only replace broken or worn key
parts with original replacement
parts from the manufacturer or parts
approved by your manufacturer. This is
mandatory in the case of light systems,
while the manufacturer’s warranty is usually
nullied if you install non-approved replace-
ment parts.
Do not allow children to use the
pedelec unattended and without de-
tailed instruction! Ensure that chil-
dren understand the dangers of using elec-
trical devices.
Wear and warranty
Please note that the parts of a pedelec are sub-
ject to higher levels of wear than a bicycle without
an additional integrated motor. This is due to the
heavier weight of the pedelec and higher aver-
age speed from the motor. This increased wear
is not a material defect and is not covered by the
warranty.
Typically this denition of wear includes the fol-
lowing parts:
• Tyres • Drivetrain components
• Brake pads • Spokes
The battery is subject to aging and is therefore
also a wearable part. Please note that the battery
gradually loses its capacity depending on its age
and operating life. Take this into account when
planning journeys and ensure that you switch to
a new battery in good time. Replacement batter-
ies can be purchased from your specialist retail-
er.
Guidelines for the parts replacement of CE
marked e-bikes / pedelecs up to a pedal
assist of 25 km/h (15 mph)
Category 1
Parts which must not be replaced without approval of the vehi-
cle manufacturer / system provider
• Motor
• Sensors
• Electronic control unit
• Electric cables
• Operating unit on the handlebar
• Display
• Battery pack
• Charger
Category 2
Parts which must not be replaced without approval of the
vehicle manufacturer
• Frame
• Rear shock
• Rigid and suspension fork
• Wheel for hub motor
• Brake system
• Brake pads (rim brakes)
• Luggage carrier
(Luggage carriers directly affect the load distri-
bution on the bicycle. Both negative and posi-
tive modications will result in a riding behav-
iour potentially different from that intended by
the manufacturer)
Category 3 *
Parts which may be replaced upon approval of the vehicle or
component manufacturer
• Crank arm
(Provided that the distances crank arm – frame
centre (Q-Factor) are observed)
• Wheel without hub motor
(Provided that the ETRTO is observed)
• Chain / Toothed belt
(Provided that the original width is observed)
• Rim tape
(Rim tapes and rims must be compatible.
Modied combinations may result in rim tape
shifting and thus in defective inner tubes)
• Tires
(The stronger acceleration, the additional
weight and more dynamic cornering require
the use of tires approved for e-bike use. In this
respect, observance of the ETRTO is essen-
tial)
• Brake cables / Brake hoses
• Brake pads
(Disc, roller, drum brakes)
• Handlebar-stem unit
(Provided that there is no need to change the
lengths of cables and/or hoses. A modica-
tion of the seating position for the benet of
