PICKUP:
GENERAL:
Disc Loading and Playback: The changer features multiple disc slots (up to 110 for SL-MC7, 60 for SL-MC4) and a dedicated single disc play slot (Slot No. 0). Discs are loaded by gently pulling open the front panel, sliding the loader carriage to the desired slot, placing the disc label side up, flipping the loader upwards, and then gently closing the front panel. The device supports standard compact discs with specific marks (COMPACT disc DIGITAL AUDIO, COMPACT disc DIGITAL AUDIO TEXT). Irregularly shaped CDs (heart-shape, etc.), 3" (8 cm) discs with expander rings, cleaning discs, or warped discs should not be used as they can damage the changer.
Playback Modes:
CD-TEXT Functionality:
Time Mode Selection (Remote Control Only): Displays various time-related information during playback, such as track number and elapsed play time, total remaining time on the disc, track number and remaining time of the current track, and total elapsed play time on the disc.
Remote Control: The device comes with a remote control transmitter (EUR645270) and requires two R6/LR6, AA, UM-3 or equivalent batteries. It is important to avoid obstacles between the remote control and the signal sensor, and to keep the sensor free from direct sunlight or bright fluorescent light.
Memory Retention: Program play, disc grouping play, and text editing information are retained in the unit's memory even when disconnected from the AC power source. Program and grouping play data are retained for approximately one week, while text editing data is retained indefinitely.
Cabinet and Controls: Clean the cabinet, panel, and controls with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Abrasive pads, scouring powder, alcohol, or benzine should not be used.
CD Handling and Storage:
Liner Notes Organizer: The changer includes a notebook-like binder (liner notes organizer) to store CD liners, along with numbered stickers to help track which disc is in which slot. Two liners can be placed back-to-back in each pocket of the organizer.
Moving the Unit: Before moving the changer, all discs must be removed from the slots, and the changer must be turned off. The changer mechanism automatically locks when power is turned off to prevent damage during transport. Users should always press the [POWER] button and ensure "OFF" appears on the display before unplugging the changer.
Troubleshooting Guide: The manual includes a comprehensive troubleshooting guide to address common issues such as the changer not playing, discs not playing, play stopping prematurely, noise from the tuner, error messages (e.g., "NO PGM," "ERROR," "F-26," "TAKE OUT"), and remote control unresponsiveness. Suggested remedies range from checking disc orientation and cleanliness to resetting the unit or replacing batteries.
Product Service: Users are advised not to attempt to remove covers or repair the unit themselves. All servicing should be referred to qualified personnel. Before bringing the unit for service, all discs should be removed. If a disc in play does not return to its slot, holding the stop button for about 4 seconds should return it.
