Preview helps you optimize these control settings befo re the next
acquisition; this makes it easier to w ork with signals that are single-shot
or have a low repetition rate. (See page 142, Vertical Preview.) (See
page 85, Horizo nta l Zoom and Preview.)
While the acquisition is stop ped you can make changes to other controls,
but those changes will only take affect with the next acquisition. There
is no preview for control changes other than t he vertical and horizontal
controls.
The preview functions also do not affect automatic measurements,
cursor measurements, or the Math waveform. This d ata for these
functions is alway s based on the current acquisitio n. If you rescale
or reposition a channel waveform horizontally, it may not appear
time-correlated to the automatic measurements, cursor measurem ents,
or the Math waveform.
Acquisition M odes. You can choose one of four acquisition modes:
Sample, Peak Detect
, Envelope, or Average. The next few pages
describe these acquisition m odes in detail.
