IV. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Introduction
NOTE1: All the user controls and indicators mentioned in these procedures are identified in chapter 1. For to
make easier to understand some of the procedures there are repetitions.
NOTE2: The audible alarm may annunciate at various points in these procedures.
NOTE3: In the surroundings of 30 meters radio appliances and radio broadcasting my be disturbed.
The surrounding must be observed against radio interferrences. In case the manufacturer has to
support suitable modifications.
4.2 Procedure For Switching The UPS To Power The Load From a Power-Off Condition
TURN ON THE UPS
By applying this procedure UPS returns to normal operation, during its completely shutdown.
ATTENTION!!! The following action will apply power to the load equipment.
1. Open the UPS doors to gain access to the main power switches.
2. Make sure that S3 switch (maintenance bypass) is into “0” (OFF) position.
3. If the power rating of your UPS is either 80 kVA, turn on the S2 (static by-pass) switch (into “1” (ON)
position). In 40 and 60 kVA UPS’s there is no need.
4. If the power rating of your UPS is either 80 kVA, turn on the S4 (UPS output) switch (into “1” (ON)
position). In 40 and 60 kVA UPS’s there is no need.
5. Turn on the S1 switch (inverter input), into ”1” (ON) position.
After these procedures, these messages appear on the front panel:
All leds on the front panel is lit 4 sec. (lamp test)
RECTIFIER START! : Rectifier is working and static bypass continues to feed the load.
INVERTER START! : Inverter is working and static bypass continues to feed the load.
STATUS NORMAL! : The UPS is operating normally its inverter supplying the outlet.
6. Turn on the battery circuit breaker into “1” (ON) position. By this way it is ensured to connect the
battery group to the UPS.
7. Your UPS system is ready to use. You can start up your PC. printer etc.
4.3 Procedure For Switching The UPS Into a Maintenance Bypass From Normal Operation
This procedure should be followed when turning from normal operation to maintenance bypass. This
procedure can be used in giving temporary mains voltage to the system during the maintenance of the UPS
or in case of failure.
1.
Press on the UP or DOWN button when there is “COMMAND MENU” message on the front panel of
the UPS. Then press “ENTER” button.
2.
Press on the UP or DOWN button when there is “ENTER <BYPASS>” message on the front panel of
the UPS. Then press “ENTER” button for 3 seconds. L4 static by-pass led lit and L6 inverter led off.
Now your load is feeding from the Static By-pass.

Take out the lock from the S3 (maintenance bypass) switch. (Take down the safety bar, which is
located inside the switch sleeve by pressing only for 40 kVA models.)

Turn on (into “1” position) the S3 (maintenance bypass) switch.

S1 (inverter input)
S2 (static bypass)
S4 (UPS output) open this switches and the battery circuit breaker. Into “0” position.
