1
GENERAL
The
winterization
kit
consists
of
two
cover
plates
(with
placards)
which
attach
to
the
air
intakes
in
the
cowling
nose
cap,
a
placard
silk
screened
on
the
instrument
panel,
and
insulation
for
the
crankcase
breather
line.
This
equipment
should
be
installed
for
operations
in
temperatures
consistently
below
20°
F
(-7°C).
Once
installed,
the
crankcase
breather
insulation
is
approved
for
permanent
use,
regardless
of
temperature.
SECTION

LIMITATIONS
The
following
information
must
be
presented
in
the
form
of
placards
when
the
airplane
is
equipped
with
a
winterization
kit.

On
each
nose
cap
cover
plate:
REMOVE
WHEN
O.A.T.
EXCEEDS
+20°F.
2.
On
the
instrument
panel
near
the
EGT
gauge:
WINTERIZATION
KIT
MUST
BE
REMOVED
WHEN
OUTSIDE
AIR
TEMPERATURE
IS
ABOVE
20°
F.
