edgeofbladetowardthetrailingedge.Workasmallsectionatatime,startingattheinboard
sectionofthebladeandworktowardsthetip.Workallexcessbootmaterialouttoperimeter
beforemovingtothenextsection.Ifexcessmaterialatbootedgestendstolifttheedgesof
thebootawayfromthesurfaceoftheblade,useyourngerstocarefullyworktheliftedareas
smooth.
(3)Removethemaskingtapethatwasinstalledasasecondlayerofmaskingtapetocoveran
additional0.125inch(3.18mm)insideofpreviouslymaskedareamarkingthe0.5inch(12.7
mm)bootpermitter.
NOTE:Donotapplythesealeruntiltheretainingstrapisinstalled.
G.Removeanyexcess1300Ladhesivefromthebladeintheareasurroundingtheinstalleddeiceboot.
(1)UseaclothdampenedwithMethyln-PropylKetone(MPK)towipeofftheexcessadhesive.
(2)Checkthedeicebootresistancevalues,refertoTable202forbootresistancevalues.

(1)Apply0.5inch(12.7mm)widenelinetapetothebladetoshankintersection.
(a)Makesurethetapeextendsontothepaintedsurfaceofthebladeapproximately3/16inch
(4.5mm).
(2)Determinetheinstalledpositionoftherestrainerstrap.
(a)Therestrainerstrapshallbelocatedonthepropellerbladewiththeinboard(propellerhub
side)ofthestraplocatedinboardofthedeicebootinaccordancewithdimension"X"given
inFigure202.
(b)Applymaskingtapeapproximately3/16inch(4.5mm)outboardoftheoutboardedgeof
theintendedrestrainerstrapposition.
NOTE:Onintegralleadstraptypedeicebootsaseparaterubberrestrainerstrapisused
attheinboardendoftheboottopreventlooseningofthedeicebootbondwhen
centrifugalforceactsontheleadstrap.Theprocedureforinstallingtherestrainer
strapisgiveninFigure202andT able201..
(3)Thoroughlycleantheareabetweenthenelinetapeandthemaskingtapewithacloth
dampenedwithMPK.
(4)Cleantheinnersurfaceoftherestrainerstrap.
(5)Applyadhesivetotheinnersurfaceoftherestrainerstrapandtheareabetweenthemasking
tapeandnelinetapeandallowtodryforapproximately15minutes.
NOTE:Donotapplyadhesivecloserthan0.25inch(6mm)tothenelinetapeontheblade
shank.
(a)Makesuretheadhesiveisdry,nottacky.
(6)Applyasecondcoatofadhesivetothebladeandrestrainerstrap.
(7)Immediatelyinstallthestrapinthecorrectlocation.
(a)Allowtheadhesivetothoroughlydry(approximately15minutes)andmakesurethe
restrainerstrapissecure.
(8)RemoveanyexcessiveadhesivewithaclothdampenedwithMPK.
I.NylonCableTieInstallation
(1)Installnyloncabletieinthesameorientationastherestrainingstrap.
(2)Positionthenyloncabletieoverthedeicebootleadandadjacenttothedeicebootrestraining
strap.
(3)Makesuretheendsofthenyloncabletieareadjacenttotheexteriorendoftherestrainerstrap.
(4)Pullthenyloncabletietight.
(5)Cut/removeexcessnyloncabletiematerialfromnyloncabletieend.
