7.6 DRIVING _________________________________________________________________
Read and follow all safety instructions contained in this manual when you drive the mower. When you operate in the
reverse direction, look behind you to make sure you have a clear path.
IMPORTANT: Equipment must meet the current regulations to be driven on the public roads.
Push the PTO switch to the OFF position and lift the cutting units to the transport position.
Engage the wing transport latches before you transport the mower on a trailer or when the mower is stored with the
wings in the lifted position.
To engage the transport latch:
1. Press the front of the left wing switch and right wing switch to
the ON position. Press the joystick forward to lower the wing
mowers to the ground.
2. Turn the parking brake switch to the ON position, stop the
engine and remove the key.
3. Lift the transport latch and rotate the latch plate away from the
wing lift arm. The transport latch will lower to the stop.
4. Start the engine and turn the left wing switch and right wing
switch to the OFF position. The wing mowers will lift to the
transport position. The transport latch will engage the stud on
the wing lift arm as the lift arm is lifted. Pull back on the
joystick to fully raise the remaining mowers.
To disengage the transport latches:
1. Lift the transport latch off the stud on the wing lift arm. If the transport latch does not lift easily, push the wing lift
arm toward the hood to decrease the tension on the latch
2. Rotate the latch plate below the transport latch.
3. Lower the transport latch to the latch plate. Make sure the latch plate is in notch in the transport latch
7.7 MOWING SPEED __________________________________________________________
The cutting quality is improved at speeds lower than the transport speed of the mower. A mow speed of 6 to 7 mph (10
to 11 km/hr) is set at the factory and is correct for most conditions. The local turf conditions can need a different speed.
If the adjustment is needed, see Section 10.2.
NOTICE
To prevent damage to the mower, make sure that the wing
transport latch is disengaged before you turn the wing switch to
the ON position.
