12.5 STRAGGLERS ____________________________________________________________
NOTE: Arrow indicates direction of travel.
Stragglers are separated blades of grass the are not cut,
or are cut incorrectly.
Probable Cause Remedy
Edge of the cutting blade(s) are not sharp. Sharpen the blade(s).
Cut (ground) speed is higher than normal Reduce the cut (ground) speed.
The grass is higher than the level at which the mower
can cut correctly.
Cut the grass more frequently.
Cut in the same direction. Change the direction of cut more frequently.
