Beforereplacingparts:
Makesurethatallsoftwarexes,drivers,andBIOSdownloadsareinstalledbeforereplacinganyFRUs
listedinthismanual.
Afterasystemboardisreplaced,ensurethatthelatestBIOSisloadedtothesystemboardbefore
completingtheserviceaction.

Drivers&Software.Thenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreentoinstallthenecessarysoftware.
UsethefollowingstrategytopreventunnecessaryexpenseforreplacingandservicingFRUs:
•IfyouareinstructedtoreplaceaFRUbutthereplacementdoesnotcorrecttheproblem,reinstall
theoriginalFRUbeforeyoucontinue.
•Somecomputershavebothaprocessorboardandasystemboard.Ifyouareinstructedtoreplaceeither
theprocessorboardorthesystemboard,andreplacingoneofthemdoesnotcorrecttheproblem,
reinstallthatboard,andthenreplacetheotherone.
•IfanadapteroradeviceconsistsofmorethanoneFRU,anyoftheFRUsmaybethecauseoftheerror.
Beforereplacingtheadapterordevice,removetheFRUs,onebyone,toseeifthesymptomschange.
ReplaceonlytheFRUthatchangedthesymptoms.
Attention:Thesetupcongurationonthecomputeryouareservicingmayhavebeencustomized.Running
AutomaticCongurationmayalterthesettings.Notethecurrentcongurationsettings(usingtheView
Congurationoption);then,whenservicehasbeencompleted,verifythatthosesettingsremainineffect.
