• Inspect wedges regularly
• Sharpen dull wedges with fi le or grinder
Wheel Bearings
• Grease wheel bearings annually
• Grease wheel bearings any time splitter is towed
Hydraulic Control Valve Maintenance
WARNING!
You can die or be seriously injured if hydraulic fl uid under pressure penetrates your skin. Get
medical help immediately if this occurs.
• Do not use your hand or any other body part to check for leaks; use a cardboard sheet or a piece of wood
• Do not open the hydraulic oil tank with the engine running. Wait until tank is cool to the touch and make sure all residual hydraulic
pressure has been released
• Always release system pressure before doing any service or maintenance. To release system pressure:
1. Shut off engine
2. Move control valve handle(s) to forward limit position and hold for three seconds
3. Move control valve handle(s) to back limit position and hold for three seconds
4. Repeat sequence with control valve handle(s) four (4) times
