How to fix Topcon HiPER GD GPS receiver connection issues with a computer?
    • A
      Andres BeckerAug 25, 2025
If your Topcon GPS receiver won't connect to a computer or external controller, consider these potential causes. The Daisy Chain mode might still be active. The cable may not be properly plugged in; ensure it's securely connected to the correct serial port. A damaged cable could also be the culprit; try using an undamaged cable. Finally, the receiver port used for connection may not be in Command mode. Connect your receiver and a computer using a free port and start PC-CDU. Click Configuration->Receiver ->Ports. Change the Input for the serial port used for connection to Command.

Why my Topcon HiPER GD GPS receiver cannot obtain Code Differential or RTK solutions?
    • J
      juarezdianaAug 26, 2025
If your Topcon GPS receiver is failing to obtain Code Differential and/or RTK solutions, several factors could be responsible. An improper receiver status may have been chosen; ensure the receiver has the correct status (kinematic, RTK, or static). The corresponding receiver options may be disabled or expired. Also, there might not be enough common satellites; the Base and Rover should track at least five common satellites, so ensure that both the Rover and Base receivers use the same, and updated, almanac and check the elevation masks of the Rover and Base receivers; they should be the same.

What to do if Topcon HiPER GD receiver tracks too few satellites?
    • Z
      zbennettAug 27, 2025
If your Topcon GPS receiver is tracking too few satellites, it could be due to a high elevation mask value; lower the elevation mask. Alternatively, the survey might be conducted near obstructions. In this case, check that the Multipath Reduction boxes have been enabled. Connect your receiver and a computer and start PC-CDU. Click Configuration ->Advanced->Multipath Reduction and enable the two boxes. Consider moving to an area free of obstructions.
