7 Without moving the position of the front foot, pivot the instrument so the rotary head is
now facing wall B.
8 Mark where the split beam emitted from
the top of the rotary head strikes wall B
(Hb). Measure the distance (dHb)
between marks Mb and Hb.
9 Compare the two measurements dHa and
dHb. If the difference between the two
measurements is less than 2.5mm (1/10of
an inch), no adjustment is necessary. Oth-
erwise, adjust as follows.
