thefulllengthofthereelandthebedknife(refer

Manualforthecuttingunits).
ChecktheTorqueofthe
WheelNuts
Torquethewheelnutsto94to122N-m(70to90
ft-lb).after1to4hoursofoperationandagainafter
10hoursofoperation.T orqueevery250hours
thereafter.
WARNING
Failuretomaintainpropertorqueofthewheel
nutscouldresultinpersonalinjury.
BreakingintheMachine
Toensureoptimumperformanceoftheparking-brake
system,burnish(breakin)thebrakesbeforeuse.Set
theforwardtractionspeedto4mphtomatchthe
reversetractionspeed.(All8spacersmovedtothe
topofthemow-speedcontrol.)Withtheengineat
highidle,proceedforwardwiththemow-speed-control
stopengagedandridethebrakefor15seconds.
Proceedbackwardsatfullreversespeedandridethe
brakefor15seconds.Repeatthis5times,waiting
1minutebetweeneachforwardandreversecycle
toavoidoverheatingthebrakes.Youmayneedto
adjustthebrakesafterbreakinginthemachine;refer
toAdjustingtheParkingBrakes(page56).
StartingandStoppingthe
Engine
Important:Thefuelsystemwillautomatically
bleeditselfwhenanyofthefollowingsituations
occur:
•Initialstartupofanewmachine.
•Theenginehasceasedrunningduetolackoffuel.
•Maintenancehasbeenperformeduponthefuel
systemcomponents.
StartingtheEngine
1.Sitontheseat,keepyourfootoffthetraction
pedalsothatitisinNEUTRAL,engagethe
parkingbrake,settheengine-speedswitch
totheMIDDLEpositionandensurethatthe
Enable/DisableswitchisintheDISABLEposition.
2.Removeyourfootfromthetractionpedaland
makesurethatthepedalisintheNEUTRAL
position.
3.TurntheignitionkeytotheRUNposition.
4.Whentheglowindicatordims,turntheignition
keytotheSTARTposition.Releasethekey
immediatelywhentheenginestartsandallowit
toreturntotheRunposition.Allowtheengineto
warmup(withoutload),thenmovethethrottle
controltothedesiredposition.
StoppingtheEngine
1.MoveallcontrolstoNEUTRAL,settheparking
brake,movetheengine-speedswitchtothelow
idlepositionandallowtheenginetoreachlow
idlespeed.
2.TurnthekeytotheOFFpositionandremoveit
fromtheswitch.
SettingtheReelSpeed
Toachieveaconsistent,highquality-of-cutanda
uniformaftercutappearance,itisimportantthatyou
setthereelspeedtothepropersetting.Adjustthe
reelspeedasfollows:
1.IntheInfoCenter,underthesettingsmenu,
enterthebladecount,mowspeedandHOCto
calculatetheproperreelspeed.
2.Iffurtheradjustmentsarerequired,inthe
settingsmenu,scrolldowntotheFReelRPM,
RReelRPMorboth.
3.Presstherightbuttontochangethereel-speed
value.
Note:Asyouchangethespeedsetting,the
displaycontinuestoshowthecalculatedreel
speedbasedonbladecount,mowspeedand
HOC,butthenewvalueisalsobedisplayed.
Note:Youmayneedtoincreaseordecrease
thereelspeedtocompensateforvaryingturf
conditions.
