NOTE: The charge relief valve is attached to the piston
pumpbackplate(showninFig.45).Thebackplatemust
be removed to service the relief valve.
NOTE: The piston pump is equipped with relief valves
(items18and41)forboththeforwardandreversedirec-
tion.Duetoengineoutput,itisunlikelythattractionpres-
sure will reach relief valve settings. If, however, a piston
pump relief valve is leaking or otherwise faulty, traction
performance would be affected.
IMPORTANT: Theshimkit(item7)isusedtoreplace
theoriginalcrushring(notshown)inthecoverplate
(item 25). If the swash p late (item 10), cover plate
(item25)orhousing(item29)isreplacedduringser-
vicing, the old crush ring must be replaced. For in-
