RemovingtheBedbar
1.Turnbedbaradjusterscrew ,counterclockwise,to
backbedknifeawayfromreel(Figure19).

2.Backoutthespringtensionnut,untilthewasheris
nolongertensionedagainstthebedbar(Figure19).

stampedsteelwashersoneachendofthebedbar

AssemblingtheBedbar
1.Installthebedbar,positioningthemountingears
betweenthewasherandbedbaradjuster.
2.Securethebedbartoeachsideplatewiththebedbar
bolts(nutsonbolts)and6washers.Anylonwasher
istobepositionedoneachsideofthesideplate
boss.Placeasteelwasheroutsideeachofthenylon
washers(
Figure21).Torquethebedbarboltsto
240-320in.-lb.Tightenthelocknutsuntiltheoutside
steelwasherstopsrotatingandtheendplayis
removedbutdonotovertightenordeecttheside
plates.Thewashersontheinsidemayhaveagap.
3.Tightenthespringtensionnutuntilthespringis
collapsed,thenbackitoff1/2turn(
Figure22).
