•Checktheaircleanerbodyfordamagewhichcould
causeanairleak.Replaceifdamaged.Checkthe
wholeintakesystemforleaks,damageorloosehose
clamps.
•Servicetheaircleanerlteronlywhentheservice
indicatorrequiresitorevery400hours(more
frequentlyinextremelydustyordirtyconditions).
Changingtheairlterbeforeitisnecessaryonly
increasesthechanceofdirtenteringtheenginewhen
thelterisremoved.
•Besurethecoverisseatedcorrectlyandsealswith
theaircleanerbody.

1.Pullthelatchoutwardandrotatetheaircleaner
covercounterclockwise(Figure49).
2.Removethecoverfromtheaircleanerbody.Before
removingthelter,uselowpressureair(40psi,
cleananddry)tohelpremovelargeaccumulations
ofdebrispackedbetweenoutsideofprimarylter
andthecanister.Avoidusinghighpressureairwhich
couldforcedirtthroughthelterintotheintakearea.
Thiscleaningprocesspreventsdebrisfrommigrating
intotheintakewhentheprimarylterisremoved.

7.Installthecoverorientingtherubberoutletvalve
(Figure49)inadownwardposition-between
approximately5:00to7:00whenviewedfromthe
end.Securethelatch.
