Theskidsshouldbemountedinthelowerposition
whenoperatingatheightsofcutgreaterthan64
mm(2-1/2inches)andinthehigherpositionwhen
operatingatheightsofcutlowerthan64mm(2-1/2
inches).
Note:Whentheskidsbecomeworn,youcanswitch
theskidtotheoppositesidesofthemower,ipping
themover.Thiswillallowyoutousetheskidslonger
beforereplacingthem.
1.Loosenthescrewatthefrontofeachskid
(Figure28).

2.Removetheange-headboltsandnutsfrom
eachskid(Figure28).
3.Moveeachskidtothedesiredpositionand
securethemwiththeange-headboltsandnuts.
Note:Onlyusethetoporcentersetsofholes
toadjusttheskids.Thebottomholesareused
whenswitchingsidesatwhichtimetheybecome
thetopholesontheothersideofthemower.
4.Torquethescrewatthefrontofeachskidto9to
11Nm(80to100in-lbs).
AdjustingtheCuttingUnitRollers
Thecuttingunitrollersshouldbemountedinthelower
positionwhenoperatinginheightofcutsgreaterthan
64mm(2-1/2inches)andinthehigherpositionwhen
operatinginheightofcutslowerthan64mm(2-1/2
inches).
1.Removetheboltandnutsecuringthegage
wheeltothecuttingunitbrackets(Figure29).

refertoAdjustingtheHeightofCut.
2.Checkandadjustfrontandreartractortire
pressureto172-207kPa(25-30psi).
3.Checkandadjustallcastortirepressuresto345
kPa(50psi).
4.Checkchargeandcounterbalancepressures
withengineathighidleusingtestportsdened
inHydraulicSystemsTestPorts.Adjust
counterbalanceto2241kPa(325psi).
5.Checkforbentblades;refertoCheckingfora
BentBlade.
6.Cutgrassinatestareatodetermineifallcutting
unitsarecuttingatthesameheight.
7.Ifcuttingunitadjustmentsarestillneeded,nda
atsurfaceusinga2m(6foot)orlongerstraight
edge.
8.Toeasemeasuringbladeplane,raisetheheight
ofcutto7.6to10.1cm(3to4inches);referto
AdjustingtheHeightofCut.
9.Lowercuttingunitsontotheatsurface.
Removethecoversfromthetopofthecutting
units.
10.Loosentheangenut,securingtheidlerpulley,
toreleasethebelttensiononeachcuttingunit.
